Pete Mathews Coliseum is the home arena of the Jacksonville State Gamecocks basketball team in Jacksonville, Alabama, seating roughly 3,500 fans. It's an intimate, campus-adjacent building where the crowd sits close to the action, giving Gamecocks basketball a true small-college home-court feel. The arena also hosts JSU volleyball and serves as a community events venue for the city of Jacksonville. Its modernized concourse and seating give it a fresher look than its 1970s roots would suggest.
Opened in 1974, the coliseum has been the home of Gamecocks basketball through the program's climb from Division II to Division I competition and its move into the Atlantic Sun and ASUN conferences. A complete renovation in 2015 brought new seating and a new playing floor, modernizing the building for a new generation of JSU teams. After an EF-3 tornado tore through the Jacksonville State campus in 2018, the coliseum underwent repairs that included new videoboards and upgraded team facilities. It remains the anchor of JSU athletics more than five decades after it first opened.
