Stegeman Coliseum is the home arena of the Georgia Bulldogs basketball and gymnastics teams in Athens, Georgia. The 10,523-seat arena is a longtime fixture of the SEC and is especially known as the home of the powerhouse GymDogs gymnastics program.
Opened in February 1964, the arena's very first game saw Georgia upset rival Georgia Tech in front of an overflow crowd of 13,200 — still the building's attendance record despite an original design capacity of just 11,200. Renamed Stegeman Coliseum in 1996 to honor longtime coach Herman Stegeman, it has since hosted decades of Georgia basketball and the GymDogs gymnastics program, which has won more national titles than any other program and regularly draws some of the sport's largest crowds.
