Desert Financial Arena is the home of Arizona State Sun Devils basketball, wrestling, gymnastics and volleyball in Tempe, Arizona. Sitting on the ASU campus near Sun Devil Stadium, the arena wraps a compact bowl of steep seating around the court that keeps fans close to the action. It seats just over 14,000 and is known for a loud student section that packs in behind the baseline for marquee conference matchups. On big nights the building has one of the more intimate, noisy atmospheres in Arizona college sports.
Built in 1974 as the University Activity Center, the arena has carried three naming-rights identities over the decades: Wells Fargo Arena starting in 1997, and Desert Financial Arena since 2019. It has been the continuous home of Sun Devils basketball for half a century and is now slated for a major renovation. The venue also regularly hosts ASU wrestling, gymnastics and volleyball, giving it a broader role across Sun Devil athletics beyond hoops.
