The Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center is the home arena of the South Carolina State Bulldogs basketball teams in Orangeburg, South Carolina. It anchors athletics at the historically Black university.
History & Legacy
Opened in 1968, the arena is named in memory of Samuel Hammond, Delano Middleton and Henry Smith, three young men killed in the 1968 Orangeburg Massacre, giving the building deep historical significance for the campus and community.
