Nissan Stadium sits on the bank of the Cumberland River across from downtown Nashville, the home of the Tennessee Titans since the franchise's move to the city. Its riverfront perch gives fans skyline views of downtown Nashville over the stadium rim, and the open bowl fills with a country-music-city energy on game days. The venue also hosts college football and occasional concerts, keeping it busy well beyond the NFL calendar. A new, roofed Nissan Stadium is under construction next door and is slated to replace it around 2027.
Opened in 1999 as Adelphia Coliseum (later renamed The Coliseum, LP Field, and Nissan Stadium in 2015), it was the Titans' first home after their move from Houston and hosted the franchise's Super Bowl XXXIV run in its debut season. It is best known as the site of the "Music City Miracle" — the January 2000 lateral-and-return touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card round — one of the most famous plays in NFL playoff history. The stadium has also hosted college football games and is now entering its final years before the Titans move into the new domed Nissan Stadium rising alongside it.
