M.M. Roberts Stadium

M.M. Roberts Stadium, known as 'The Rock,' is the home of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, competing in the Sun Belt Conference. The 36,000-seat stadium sits on the Carlisle-Faulkner Field playing surface on USM's campus. Its close-in seating bowl and long-standing home-field reputation make it one of the tougher stops for visiting Sun Belt and Group of Five opponents.

The site dates to 1932 as Faulkner Field, and the nickname 'The Rock' originated in 1938 when Southern Miss players themselves hauled concrete to build permanent stands. The current stadium was rebuilt and opened in 1976, then expanded through a $31.8 million project completed by the 2008 season that grew capacity from 33,000 to 36,000. Across nearly a century on the site, the stadium has hosted decades of Golden Eagles football, including the program's Conference USA and Sun Belt eras.
