Veterans Memorial Stadium (AL)

Veterans Memorial Stadium is the football home of the Troy Trojans at Troy University in Troy, Alabama. Officially known as Veterans Memorial Stadium at Larry Blakeney Field, it anchors Troy's Sun Belt Conference program. The bowl-shaped stadium has grown substantially since its original construction, now seating over 30,000 fans for Trojans home games. Game days draw a strong small-town crowd from across southeast Alabama, giving Troy one of the better atmospheres among Group of Five programs.

The stadium opened in 1950 as Memorial Stadium, built for a modest $65,000 and seating just 5,000 fans, and was dedicated to the Troy-area students and residents who died in World War II. It was expanded repeatedly over the decades, including a jump to roughly 17,500 seats in 1998, before an $18 million renovation completed in 2003 pushed capacity past 30,000 as Troy transitioned into Division I-A football. The playing surface is named Larry Blakeney Field for the winningest head coach in Troy history. Today the stadium stands as one of the largest venues in the Sun Belt Conference.
