Selhurst Park

Selhurst Park in south London is the raucous, old-school home of Crystal Palace, famed for one of the most passionate atmospheres in the Premier League. Designed by the legendary Archibald Leitch, its four separate stands give it a boxy, tightly-packed character with fans close to the pitch on every side. The Holmesdale Road end drives the noise, turning ordinary Saturdays into genuinely intimidating occasions for visiting teams. It is a ground that feels much bigger than its capacity suggests once the crowd gets going.

Selhurst Park was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of London on 30 August 1924, and Crystal Palace have called it home for a century since. The Holmesdale Road end and its ultras-style support, organised as the Holmesdale Fanatics, give the ground a noise and colour that belies its size and have made it one of the most feared away trips in English football. The club celebrated 100 years at the stadium in 2024, and expansion plans exist to grow capacity toward the mid-30,000s in the years ahead. It has also occasionally hosted non-league and lower-division tenants over the decades, cementing its place as a genuine south London football institution.
