Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles is the rare building that's home to the Lakers, Kings, and Sparks all at once, a genuine multi-sport landmark at the heart of L.A. Live. From 1999 to 2024 it also housed the Clippers before their move to Intuit Dome, making it one of the few arenas in history to host two NBA franchises simultaneously. The arena opened October 17, 1999, as Staples Center, taking its current name in 2021 under a naming-rights deal with Crypto.com. It's a cathedral of Hollywood basketball, home to the Showtime-era-turned-modern Lakers dynasties and the Kobe Bryant era, whose championship banners and retired numbers hang throughout the building. The Kings have also won Stanley Cups as tenants, and the arena has hosted NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, the Grammy Awards, and countless championship celebrations over its history. Its dual identity as both a working arena and an entertainment landmark has made it one of the most recognizable venues in American sports.
