EagleBank Arena is the home of George Mason Patriots basketball in Fairfax, Virginia. Originally the Patriot Center, it is one of the larger on-campus arenas in the Atlantic 10, and its size lets it double as a regional concert and events venue outside Washington, D.C. Patriots home games draw a strong D.C.-suburbs crowd that still remembers the program's Cinderella run.
Opened in 1985, the arena was home court for George Mason's stunning run to the 2006 Final Four as an 11-seed, one of the great Cinderella stories in NCAA Tournament history. It remains a regular host for concerts and regional sporting events, and its name has changed over the years through naming-rights deals while the building's Final Four legacy has stayed central to the program's identity.
