Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is the home of the Texas Longhorns football team in Austin, Texas. With an official capacity of 100,119, it ranks among the largest stadiums in college football and one of the biggest sporting venues in the world. Burnt-orange-clad crowds and the Longhorn Band's pregame traditions make Saturdays there one of the sport's signature atmospheres.
Dedicated on November 27, 1924, as a memorial to Texans who served and died in World War I, the stadium was renamed in 1996 for legendary coach Darrell K Royal, who led the Longhorns to three national championships. Texas has won four national titles overall (1963, 1969, 1970, 2005) as a program based out of the stadium, and it has undergone repeated expansions, including a $175 million south end zone project completed in 2021. The all-time attendance record of 105,215 was set on October 19, 2024, against Georgia.
