Folsom Field is the outdoor football stadium of the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder, Colorado. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Flatirons, it is one of the most scenic stadiums in college football. The bowl holds roughly 53,000 fans and combines an old-school, tightly-packed lower level with modern club and suite additions on the east side. Game day features the pregame run of live mascot Ralphie leading the team onto the field, one of the sport's signature traditions.
Folsom Field opened for the 1924 season with an original capacity of 26,000 and has been expanded repeatedly since, reaching roughly 45,000 in 1956, over 52,000 after the wooden bleachers were replaced with aluminum seating in 1976, and its current capacity following a 2003 suite addition. Set on the CU Boulder campus, it has hosted generations of Buffaloes football, including Colorado's 1990 national-title-era teams. A 2016 completion of the Champions Center capped a $156 million modernization initiative.
