Cajun Field

Cajun Field is the football stadium of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on the university's south campus in Lafayette, Louisiana. Nicknamed "The Swamp" by Cajuns fans, it has been the program's home since the early 1970s and recently underwent a major modernization. Cajun-red crowds and Sun Belt rivalry games give it a lively, close-to-the-field atmosphere. It remains the centerpiece of Ragin' Cajuns game days each fall.

The stadium opened for play in September 1971 and grew over the decades, at one point exceeding 41,000 seats before later reconfigurations. A $65 million renovation of the stadium's west side, the most significant upgrade since its construction, was completed ahead of the 2025 season, adding luxury suites, loge boxes, and club seating. The venue has been the site of the program's rise from I-AA/FCS to a consistent Sun Belt contender. It remains known to fans simply as "The Swamp."
