Gill Coliseum

Gill Coliseum is the historic home of the Oregon State Beavers basketball teams in Corvallis, Oregon. The classic mid-century arena hosts men's and women's basketball, wrestling, and gymnastics, and its steep, close seating bowl gives Beaver games one of the loudest, most old-school atmospheres on the West Coast.

Opened in December 1949 with a win over Utah in front of a still-unfinished building, Gill Coliseum is named for longtime Beavers coach Amory T. 'Slats' Gill, who won 599 games over 36 seasons. It hosted NCAA Tournament West Regional games eleven times between 1952 and 1983, and in 1969 LSU's Pete Maravich hit 30 of 31 free throws there in a 76-68 Tigers win. The building also hosted OSU commencement ceremonies for half a century and was the first venue west of the Rockies to host the NCAA Wrestling Championships.
