Patrick Gymnasium is the basketball arena of the Vermont Catamounts in Burlington, Vermont. It is the home court for Vermont men's and women's basketball, seating around 3,200 fans in a tight, energetic setting. The building has been the site of some of the program's biggest America East championship celebrations. Its compact size makes for a loud, close-quarters home-court advantage in conference play.
The gymnasium opened in 1963, replacing the university's older on-campus gym. It has hosted decades of Vermont basketball, including the program's rise to America East championships and multiple NCAA tournament berths. The Catamounts' 2005 NCAA tournament upset of Syracuse, one of the most celebrated moments in program history, came during that same championship season, though the tournament game itself was played at a neutral-site arena rather than on Vermont's home court. Patrick Gym remains the emotional home base for that era of Catamounts basketball.
