Rupp Arena is the legendary home of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and one of college basketball's most storied venues. The 20,500-seat arena in downtown Lexington creates an electric atmosphere for the sport's winningest program. Rupp Arena has been the site of eight national championships and countless SEC titles. History & Legacy

Rupp Arena opened in 1976 and is named for legendary coach Adolph Rupp. When built, it was the largest arena designed specifically for basketball. The venue has hosted countless NCAA Tournament games. A 2019 renovation modernized facilities while preserving tradition.
