Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium is the home of the Missouri Tigers football team in Columbia, Missouri. The SEC venue is named for legendary Mizzou coach Don Faurot, the inventor of the split-T formation, and its blackout night games are among the loudest in the conference.
Memorial Stadium opened in 1926, dedicated to the memory of Missourians who died in World War I, and is famous for 'Rock M,' the giant whitewashed-rock letter M built into the hillside at the north end zone by students in 1927. The field was named for Faurot in 1972 in recognition of his decades leading the program. It has hosted Missouri's rise through the Big Eight, Big 12, and now SEC eras, including numerous ranked-opponent upsets under the stadium's lights.
