DATCU Stadium

DATCU Stadium is the home of North Texas Mean Green football in Denton, Texas. Opened in 2011 as Apogee Stadium, it replaced the aging Fouts Field with a modern, horseshoe-shaped bowl built on the university's campus. Three on-site wind turbines rising behind the stands give the stadium an unmistakable, unique skyline among college football venues, and its design keeps fans close to the field with strong sightlines from every seat.

In 2011, the stadium became the first newly built venue to earn LEED Platinum certification, the U.S. Green Building Council's highest rating, thanks to features including its wind turbines, which generate roughly half a million kilowatt-hours per year and cut hundreds of tons of CO2 emissions. Originally tentatively named 'Mean Green Stadium,' it opened as Apogee Stadium under a naming-rights deal with the internet provider before DATCU Credit Union acquired the naming rights ahead of the 2023 season. It remains a landmark in sustainable stadium design and the modern home of North Texas football.
