Notre Dame Stadium is the football home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Notre Dame, Indiana. It is one of the most iconic venues in college football, overlooked by the 'Touchdown Jesus' mural on the nearby Hesburgh Library. Saturdays there carry a singular ritual weight — the golden dome, the marching band, and a national fan base that fills the bowl for nearly every home date.
Designed with input from legendary coach Knute Rockne and opened in 1930, 'The House That Rockne Built' has hosted generations of Irish football, national-title contenders, and Heisman Trophy winners. The 2014-2017 Campus Crossroads Project added academic, athletic, and student-life buildings around the bowl, and while it widened the seats, the renovation actually trimmed capacity to its current figure. Its sideline horseshoe shape and lack of a video board for decades (until the renovation) preserved an old-school character that fans and alumni closely guard.
