Murphy Center

The Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center is the home of Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders basketball in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, competing in Conference USA. Its roughly 11,800-seat arena, the Monte Hale/Jimmy Earle Arena, hosts MTSU men's and women's basketball as well as concerts and campus events. The building's glass-heavy exterior gives it a distinctive look on the Murfreesboro skyline and lends it its enduring nickname.

Nicknamed 'The Glass House,' the Murphy Center opened on December 11, 1972 and was named for longtime athletic director Charles M. Murphy. Since then it has been the home of MTSU basketball and one of the primary event venues for the Murfreesboro community, hosting decades of concerts, graduations, and conference tournament games. The building recently marked 50 years in operation, a milestone celebrated with a yearlong series of events honoring its history.
