Williams-Brice Stadium

Williams-Brice Stadium is the football home of the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, South Carolina, seating roughly 77,500 fans. It hosts the program's SEC home games and is famous for its electric atmosphere, highlighted by fans entering to the theme from '2001: A Space Odyssey.' The bowl-shaped stadium's steep upper decks amplify crowd noise, making it one of the loudest environments in the SEC. Cockaboose Row, a line of converted train cabooses beyond the north end zone, is one of college football's most unique tailgating traditions.

Originally built in 1934 with WPA funds as Columbia Municipal Stadium, seating just 17,600, the venue was deeded to South Carolina in 1941 and expanded repeatedly over the decades, growing to 43,000 by the 1950s and 54,000 after a 1971-72 west grandstand rebuild. That renovation, funded by a bequest from Martha Williams Brice and Thomas Hardin Brice, led to the stadium's 1972 renaming as Williams-Brice Stadium. Further expansions in 1982 and a 2020 renovation of premium seating areas brought capacity to its current 77,559, cementing the stadium's status as a signature SEC home-field advantage.
