McLeod Center

The McLeod Center is the home arena of the Northern Iowa Panthers men's and women's basketball teams in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The modern, roughly 6,650-seat bowl gives UNI a sharper home-court edge than its old West Gym, with steep sightlines that pack the noise down onto the floor. Beyond basketball, it doubles as the region's go-to arena for concerts, wrestling duals, and civic events. UNI teams have built a reputation for pulling off NCAA Tournament upsets, and the McLeod Center's energy is a big part of that lore.

The arena opened on November 18, 2006 with a volleyball match, followed within days by men's basketball, women's basketball, and wrestling debuts, replacing the aging West Gym as UNI's primary home. It made history in 2010 as the first Iowa venue to host the 14th Dalai Lama, and later that year Bob Dylan performed a full concert there. In November 2023, the arena sold out completely for a women's basketball game against Caitlin Clark and Iowa. Its all-time attendance record came in wrestling, when 7,348 fans turned out in February 2025 to watch UNI beat rival Iowa State.
