Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion

Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion is the basketball home of the Washington Huskies in Seattle, hosting the men's and women's programs along with volleyball and gymnastics on the UW campus. A dramatic 1999-2000 renovation replaced view-blocking columns with soaring gold super-trusses, giving the historic brick building modern sightlines while keeping its old-school character. The compact bowl and steep upper deck can get deafening for Pac-12 and Big Ten rivalry games.

Built in just nine months, the arena opened in December 1927 and was renamed in 1948 for longtime UW coach Hec Edmundson, making it one of the oldest arenas in major college basketball. It hosted the NCAA Final Four in 1949 and again in 1952 — the first tournament officially billed as the 'Final Four.' The building has also hosted a WNBA franchise, an NCAA gymnastics regional, and touring musical acts from the Grateful Dead to Kendrick Lamar, cementing its status as a genuine Seattle institution.
