The Bob Carpenter Center is a multi-purpose arena on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, Delaware, serving as home to Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens men's and women's basketball. Known on campus simply as "The Bob," it anchors the university's athletics calendar and doubles as a venue for concerts, commencement, and campus events. Its on-campus location keeps student turnout high for conference games. The building gives Delaware basketball a modern, self-contained home base.
Opened in 1992, The Bob replaced older on-campus facilities and gave Delaware basketball a purpose-built modern home. It hosted the Blue Hens through their long run in the Colonial Athletic Association and continues to serve them following the program's move to Conference USA. Beyond basketball, the arena has been a regular stop for touring concerts and university ceremonies. It remains the largest indoor venue on the Newark campus.
