Fifth Third Arena

Fifth Third Arena is the home of Cincinnati Bearcats men's and women's basketball on the University of Cincinnati campus. It is the centerpiece of one of college basketball's tradition-rich programs, which won back-to-back national titles in the 1960s. A full renovation has given the arena a modern, 360-degree bowl while preserving its reputation as a tough environment for visitors. It now serves the Bearcats' Big 12 home slate following the program's 2023 conference move.

The arena, originally known as Shoemaker Center, opened in 1989 and underwent an $87 million privately funded renovation completed in fall 2018, adding a 360-degree seating bowl, new premium areas, and modern concourses. The 2018-19 season that followed the reopening saw the Bearcats set a program record for season-ticket sales. The building hosted Cincinnati through its American Athletic Conference era and now anchors its return to power-conference basketball in the Big 12. Its renovation is considered one of the more successful modern arena makeovers in mid-major-turned-power-conference athletics.
