Viejas Arena is the home of San Diego State Aztecs basketball in San Diego, California, and one of the premier on-campus arenas in the country. It doubles as a major regional concert and events venue for university functions and touring acts. Its steep seating bowl and dedicated student section, 'The Show,' make it one of the loudest, most difficult road environments in college basketball.
Opened in 1997, Viejas Arena has hosted multiple rounds of the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournaments, including first- and second-round games in 2001, 2006, 2018, and 2022, plus games scheduled for 2026. It also hosted the 2001 NCAA women's volleyball Final Four and national championship. Seating around 12,400, it has become synonymous with the Aztecs' rise into a consistent NCAA Tournament program and 'The Show' student section's reputation as one of the sport's rowdiest.
