Crisler Center

Crisler Center is the home arena of the Michigan Wolverines men's and women's basketball teams in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Its distinctive saddle-shaped roof and wide, shallow bowl give it an airy, mid-century feel that's instantly recognizable on campus. The arena also anchors Michigan's broader athletic complex, hosting practice facilities alongside the main competition floor. On game nights the maize-and-blue crowd and Michigan's basketball tradition give it a big-time Big Ten atmosphere.

Crisler Center opened in 1967 and is named for Fritz Crisler, the former Michigan football coach and athletic director who helped bring it to fruition. It earned the nickname 'The House That Cazzie Built' after star Cazzie Russell's mid-1960s scoring runs drove the demand that justified a new, larger arena. The building has hosted numerous NCAA tournament games and Big Ten showdowns over its history and underwent a major renovation completed in 2012 that modernized concourses, seating, and locker rooms while keeping its signature roofline intact.
