Critics will say Notre Dame Stadium isn’t loud enough… But it doesn’t need to be. Tons of these SEC stadiums, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Alabama etc…they need to be loud, that’s their schtick: we’re more passionate than you, we care more than you. Notre Dame’s shtick is incidentally: “we’re nicer than you, we’re better at life than you.” People think it’s a football school that happens to be Catholic, no it’s the other way around. There was a mass promo showed in the middle of the game, and the crowd shakes everyone’s hand: “peace be with you.” Me growing up an SEC guy, I was astounded at that. The statues are plentiful, the the brick wall is unique, the touchdown Jesus owns the message of Notre Dame. It’s not a football school that happens to be catholic, it’s a Catholic school that happens to be very good at football. That same thought process applies to their fanbase: It’s a mostly Catholic fanbase that happens to be richer & nicer than you.
