Olympic Stadium proved to be a serviceable host for this season’s NFL International Series matchup between the Falcons and Colts. Originally built for the 1936 Olympics and later modernized for the 2006 World Cup, the venue blends historic significance with a surprisingly strong NFL-ready atmosphere. The wide bowl design delivers excellent sightlines for American football, and the crowd energy made the game feel slightly bigger than a neutral-site event. Pre-game visuals with both national flags stretched across the pitch added to the spectacle. While the stadium wasn’t built for NFL dimensions, the field conversion looked pretty seamless and the acoustics amplified every big play. As a global stage with decades of sporting heritage, Olympic Stadium showed why it remains one of Europe’s most versatile and iconic venues for major events. I would expect future NFL international games to be played here.
