It’s kind of surprising how PETCO is smack dab in the center of San Diego’s Gaslamp district you turn a city block and there’s just this massive concrete structure towering over you. When I lived in La Jolla right after college I didn’t get to as many Padres games as I would have liked but I did catch a couple from the rooftop bar - Altitude - on the 22nd floor of the Marriott hotel that is adjacent to right field. The stadium itself is pretty barebones from what I can remember (this is back in 2013) but the views of the bay and the weather were always impeccable. I’ll be back one day.
