Mountain America Stadium is the football home of the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe, Arizona. Built into a desert butte, it is one of the most recognizable settings in college football, with fans climbing sun-baked concourses to a bowl that once held nearly 75,000 and now seats around 53,600 after a major modernization.
Formerly known as Sun Devil Stadium, the venue opened in 1958 and became renowned for hosting Super Bowl XXX between the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers in 1996 — the first Super Bowl played in Arizona — along with years of the Fiesta Bowl. A five-year, $304 million renovation completed in 2019 reshaped the stadium and reduced capacity from its historic peak, and it took on its current naming-rights identity, Mountain America Stadium, in 2023.
