Falcon Stadium

Falcon Stadium is the football home of the Air Force Falcons at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It sits in a dramatic natural bowl against the Rampart Range foothills, one of the most scenic settings in college football. Game days bring heavy military pageantry, including cadet wing formations, flag ceremonies, and jet flyovers timed to kickoff. The stadium seats over 39,000 and is central to Mountain West Conference football and the Academy's service-academy rivalries with Army and Navy.

Falcon Stadium opened on September 22, 1962, when an overflow crowd of 41,350 watched Air Force beat Colorado State 24-0, with a formal dedication that October against Oregon. Navy first played at the stadium in 1966 and Army followed in 1967, cementing it as a home for the storied academy rivalry games. The stadium has hosted every Air Force Academy graduation since 1963, when President John F. Kennedy delivered the commencement address, and it staged the NHL's 2020 Stadium Series outdoor game between the Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings. Built into the Rampart Range foothills for about $3.5 million, it remains one of the most visually striking venues in college football.
