Finneran Pavilion, known to fans as 'The Pavilion,' is the on-campus home of Villanova Wildcats basketball in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Seating about 6,500, it gives Big East opponents a tight, loud environment that has become one of the toughest true road games in the conference. The men's team splits some marquee games with the larger Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, but The Pavilion remains the program's true home court. A full 2018 renovation modernized the concourses and seating while keeping the building's compact, on-campus character.
The arena opened in 1986 and hosted its first game, a win over Maryland, on February 1 of that year. It carried a corporate name tied to an early donor for its first decade, before running simply as 'The Pavilion' from 1997 until a $65 million renovation project was funded by a lead gift from 1963 graduate William B. Finneran, and the rebuilt arena reopened under his name on October 5, 2018. Across its history the building has been the on-campus stage for a Villanova program that won national championships under coach Jay Wright in 2016 and 2018.
