David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is the football home of the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kansas. Nicknamed 'The Booth' after a landmark $50 million gift, it is one of the oldest college football stadiums in the country and, following an ongoing renovation, currently seats around 41,525. Sitting on Mount Oread overlooking the Lawrence campus, it is widely cited as the oldest college football stadium west of the Mississippi River. A rebuilt west and north grandstand as part of the Gateway District project has modernized the fan experience while preserving the historic bowl.
Built in 1920-1921 and funded by students, faculty, and fans, it was dedicated as a memorial to Kansans who served in World War I. It was renamed for alumnus and donor David Booth in 2017 after his $50 million pledge to overhaul the facility. In the 2020s the stadium underwent the multiphase Gateway District renovation, rebuilding grandstands and adding the University of Kansas Conference Center and a World War I memorial walk, with the 2025 season opener selling out under the new configuration.
