Minnesota Golden Gophers

The Minnesota Golden Gophers play at historic Williams Arena in Minneapolis, one of college basketball's oldest and most atmospheric venues, famous for its elevated, sunken-floor design known as "The Barn." Minnesota's most notable modern run came in 1997, when the Golden Gophers reached their first Final Four under coach Clem Haskins before falling to Kentucky, though those tournament appearances were later vacated by the NCAA following an academic fraud scandal. Minnesota has never won an NCAA championship. The program has been recognized retroactively by the Helms Athletic Foundation as a national champion in 1902 and 1919, though those predate the modern NCAA Tournament era.
