William & Mary Tribe basketball plays at Kaplan Arena in historic Williamsburg, representing one of the oldest college basketball programs in the country. The Tribe is famous for a dubious distinction: it's one of only three charter Division I programs never to have reached the NCAA Tournament. That history has forged a fiercely loyal, long-suffering fan base always hoping this is the year the drought ends.
The Tribe program dates to the 1905-06 season, making it one of the sport's earliest. William & Mary joined the CAA in 1982-83 and has won three CAA regular-season titles (1983, 1998, 2015), but has never won the conference tournament, going 0-9 in championship-or-berth-clinching games, including a heartbreaking 75-74 loss in the 2014 CAA final.
