Iona Gaels

The Iona Gaels play at the Hynes Athletics Center in New Rochelle, New York, competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Gaels have been the MAAC's most consistent NCAA Tournament program. Iona's maroon and gold colors and New York metro location create a competitive identity.

Iona has made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, more than any other MAAC program. Rick Pitino coached at Iona before moving to St. John's. Jeff Ruland and Richie Guerin are among the program's notable alumni. The Gaels have won numerous MAAC championships and have been the conference's flagship program.
