Kent State Golden Flashes

The Kent State Golden Flashes are the men's basketball program of Kent State University, playing home games at the MAC Center. Basketball is Kent State's oldest collegiate sport, and the Golden Flashes have built one of the deepest MAC Tournament title hauls in the conference's history. Kent State is best remembered nationally for a surprising Elite Eight run in the early 2000s.

Kent State basketball was founded in 1913, making it the university's oldest team, and the Golden Flashes joined MAC play in 1951 after years in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The program has won seven MAC Tournament championships, tied for the most in conference history, and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2023. Kent State's signature moment came in 2002, when a tenth-seeded Golden Flashes team advanced all the way to the Elite Eight.
