The Ohio Bobcats are the men's basketball program of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, playing home games at the Convocation Center. A founding member of the Mid-American Conference, Ohio has one of the league's richest basketball histories, with more NCAA Tournament appearances than almost any other MAC program. The Bobcats are known for gritty, tournament-tested teams that punch above their conference standing every March.
Ohio played its first basketball game in 1907 and became a founding member of the MAC in 1946. The Bobcats have won seven MAC Tournament championships (1983, 1985, 1994, 2005, 2010, 2012, 2021) and ten regular-season titles, and their 14 NCAA Tournament appearances rank second in conference history. Ohio's deep tournament tradition includes multiple Sweet Sixteen-caliber upsets as a mid-major, most memorably in the 2010s and 2020s under coaches carrying forward the program's long winning tradition.
