The Bowling Green Falcons bring Mid-American Conference basketball to a proud, blue-collar corner of northwest Ohio. Playing home games at the modern Stroh Center on the BGSU campus, the Falcons have long been one of the MAC's steadier programs, built on tough defense and disciplined half-court execution. Bowling Green's basketball tradition traces back over a century, giving the program deep roots in a conference known for its physical, grind-it-out style. Falcon fans take pride in a program that has punched above its weight against bigger-name competition.
Bowling Green basketball dates to the 1915-16 season and became a MAC charter fixture after the conference formed. Under legendary coach Harold Anderson, the Falcons produced one of college basketball's biggest shocks in 1963, upsetting No. 2-ranked Loyola of Chicago 92-75 behind future Hall of Famer Nate Thurmond. The Falcons reached the NCAA Tournament four times (1959, 1962, 1963, 1968), advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 1963, and have claimed nine MAC regular-season titles across multiple eras of the program.
