Colorado State Rams

Colorado State Rams basketball is a steady, well-coached presence in the Mountain West, playing home games at Moby Arena in Fort Collins in front of a passionate campus crowd. The program has built its identity on efficient, share-the-ball offense and physical rebounding, regularly finishing near the top of the conference standings. Colorado State has become a reliable NCAA Tournament participant without yet breaking through to the sport's deepest rounds. It's a program that takes pride in outworking bigger-name opponents.

Colorado State's basketball program dates to the 1901-02 season, when the school was still known as Colorado Agricultural College; it adopted the Rams name fully in 1966 after the university's 1957 name change. The Rams won a conference championship under coach Jim Williams in 1961 and have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times overall, most recently in 2025, when they also captured the Mountain West Tournament title. The program has never advanced to a Final Four or national championship game.
