Air Force Falcons

Air Force Falcons basketball operates under a unique set of constraints as a service academy program, recruiting players who commit to years of active-duty service after graduation. Home games at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs carry a distinctly disciplined, team-first character that reflects the academy's culture. The Falcons are known for efficient, fundamentally sound basketball rather than star recruiting, competing in the Mountain West against programs with far larger talent pools. It's a program built on structure, discipline, and overachievement.

Air Force's basketball program was established in 1957, three years after the Air Force Academy itself was founded, and competed as an independent through the 1970s before joining the Western Athletic Conference in 1979. Coach Bob Spear built the program's foundation over 15 seasons, leading the Falcons to their only two NCAA Tournament appearances in the program's early decades. Air Force has appeared in the NCAA Tournament four times total, most recently in 2006, and has never won a conference or national championship.
