Jacksonville State Gamecocks

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks play home games at Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Alabama, representing a program that has steadily climbed the college basketball ranks. Now competing in Conference USA after moves through the Ohio Valley and Atlantic Sun conferences, the Gamecocks have built a reputation for scrappy, opportunistic basketball. Jacksonville State has twice punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament in the Division I era, giving the small Alabama school a taste of the national stage.

Jacksonville State won an NCAA Division II national championship in 1985 before moving up to Division I in 1995. Since then, the Gamecocks have reached the NCAA Tournament twice, in 2017 and 2022, both first-round losses to Louisville and Auburn respectively. Jacksonville State has since joined Conference USA, continuing a program built on the foundation of its Division II championship era.
