Murray State Racers

The Murray State Racers play their home games at the CFSB Center in western Kentucky, representing one of the winningest mid-major programs in the country. Long a dominant force in the Ohio Valley Conference before joining the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022, Murray State has built a tradition of conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances that few programs of its size can match. The Racers are a perennial bracket-buster candidate every March.

Murray State's basketball program traces its origins to the 1925-26 season and became a charter member of the Ohio Valley Conference in 1948. Over the decades, the Racers have won 31 conference regular-season titles and 18 conference tournament championships, powering 19 NCAA Tournament appearances and a 5-19 tournament record. Murray State left its OVC home for the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022 after 74 seasons in the league, carrying one of college basketball's most decorated mid-major traditions into a new conference.
