Washington Huskies

The Washington Huskies play home games at Alaska Airlines Arena (Hec Edmundson Pavilion) on the University of Washington's Seattle campus, one of the sport's older venues still in active use. Washington basketball has a passionate Pacific Northwest following even without a national title to its name. The Huskies moved from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten in 2024, joining a new set of rivals. It's a program whose best chapter came in a single unforgettable tournament run in the early 1950s.

Washington's best NCAA Tournament finish came in 1953, when the Huskies reached the Final Four behind National Player of the Year Bob Houbregs before falling to defending champion Kansas, then taking third place. The program has never won a national championship despite that historic run and periodic tournament appearances since. Washington competed in the Pacific Coast Conference and later the Pac-12 for most of its history before joining the Big Ten in 2024.
