Colorado Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes play home games at the CU Events Center in Boulder, tucked into the Rocky Mountain foothills on one of the most scenic campuses in college sports. Colorado basketball has never broken through for a national title, but it's carved out a long history of scrappy, competitive tournament teams. The Buffs are Big 12 members after decades in the Big Eight/Big 12 and a stint in the Pac-12. It's a program that prides itself on toughness bred at altitude.

Colorado has reached the Final Four twice, in 1942 and 1955, losing to eventual champion Stanford in the 1942 semifinal and taking third place in 1955 after beating Kansas in the consolation game. The Buffaloes have never won an NCAA championship but did capture the 1940 National Invitation Tournament. Colorado spent decades in the Big Eight and Big 12 conferences, moved to the Pac-12 in 2011, and returned to the Big 12 in 2024.
