Colgate Raiders

The Colgate Raiders bring modern, high-tempo shooting basketball to Cotterell Court in the small college town of Hamilton, New York. Under a run of Patriot League dominance, Colgate has become one of the conference's most feared regular-season and tournament forces. The Raiders lean heavily on the three-point shot, giving them an identity distinct from the grind-it-out style typical of many mid-major programs. Cotterell Court's close quarters make it one of the tougher road environments in the league.

Colgate University was founded in 1819, and its basketball program has grown into a Patriot League powerhouse in recent seasons. The Raiders have reached the NCAA tournament seven times, in 1995, 1996, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, capturing the Patriot League tournament title each of those years. Despite that run of conference success, Colgate has yet to win an NCAA tournament game, going 0-7 across those appearances. The program's recent stretch of four straight NCAA bids stands as its most successful era.
