Army Black Knights

The Army Black Knights play their home games at Christl Arena on the historic West Point campus, where basketball is one part of a broader mission to develop future military officers. The United States Military Academy was founded in 1802, and its basketball program's first recorded season came in 1902-03, making it one of the pioneering teams in the sport. Army is notably the oldest Division I program to have never appeared in the NCAA tournament. The program's coaching tree is legendary, having produced Bob Knight, the winningest coach in NCAA history at the time of his retirement, as head coach from 1965-71, and later Mike Krzyzewski, who played for Knight at Army before becoming the sport's all-time wins leader at Duke.
