Florida Gators

The Florida Gators are the flagship men's basketball program of the University of Florida, playing in the rugged SEC out of Exactech Arena in Gainesville. Known for high-tempo, physical basketball under Billy Donovan's era-defining teams, the Gators built a reputation as one of the sport's true modern powers. Their orange-and-blue home crowd is loud, loyal, and used to championship-caliber basketball. Few programs nationally can match Florida's combination of talent development and postseason pedigree from the mid-2000s onward.

Florida basketball's defining moment came under coach Billy Donovan, who led the Gators to back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007, becoming the first program since Duke (1991-92) to repeat and doing it with the same starting five. The 2006 title, anchored by Joakim Noah, Al Horford, and Corey Brewer, was followed by a dominant 2007 title run over Ohio State. Those teams cemented Florida among the sport's elite. The program has remained a consistent NCAA Tournament fixture in the decades since.
