Troy Trojans

The Troy Trojans play in Trojan Arena in the small city of Troy, Alabama, bringing Sun Belt Conference basketball to the Wiregrass region. Troy has quietly become one of the league's more consistent tournament threats in recent years, riding disciplined guard play and a scrappy identity. The Trojans' rise has given this small-college town a genuine March Madness stake.

Troy fielded its first basketball team in 1950 and has grown into a steady Sun Belt Conference competitor. The program holds a place in NCAA record books for a 253-141 rout of DeVry in 1992, still the highest-scoring game in Division I history. Troy has reached the NCAA Tournament four times, including trips in 2003, 2017, 2025, and 2026, with Sun Belt tournament titles fueling several of those runs. While a deep tournament run has so far eluded the Trojans, the program's recent string of appearances shows a genuine upward trajectory.
